Cool knowledge
Today I had a chance to learn something new about sport!
I watched some videos which explained the rules of different kinds of sport.
First of all, the video “How to understand American football” 🏈
Two commentators were explaining the rules and commenting the action with bright emotions, and I felt patriotic spirit in their speech. I think it’s naturally American sport. The rules were quite completed for me but anyway I understood that the football is a game which is played between two teams and the point is to score more points than the other team. The teams separate in “possession” and “defense” teams. The game starts with one team kicking the ball to another. One of these man said that the football is all about field position and that the closer you start to your opponent’s end zone the better chance you have on scoring.
The second video is “ Introduction to netball”
From this video I understood that netball is played on a court which is divided into thirds. The game starts in the center circle on the court. The netball is a fast-paced and dynamic team game. It’s important to know the areas of the court for those who wants to play.
This game seemed to me interesting and I thought that it makes people to communicate with each other, so it’s kind of social sport.
The third video is “Trampolining basics”
It drew my attention because I always liked to jump on a trampoline. In this video I saw so many difficult tricks so I barely can believe that it’s possible to do it! Some of them made me feel the drizzles! It were such exercises as straddle jump, back drop, pull-over free, front and back flip.
I think this kind of sport is quite dangerous and not everybody can do it.
The forth website is an article “Basic swimming strokes”
I chose it because I liked swimming and I used to go to swimming pool in childhood.
In this article I read about four styles of swimming that are used in competitions. Front Crawl- the fastest swimming strokes. In this style the arms move continuously and alternatively. The swimmer breath while his head is above the water. Breaststroke-is the most popular. The arms of a swimmer are symmetrical and the legs do a symmetrical whip kick. Butterfly Stroke- is quite exhausting to swim, and I can agree from my experience that it takes a lot of energy. The body of a swimmer does a wave movement, the hands leave the water at the hips. And the last Backstroke- is a style of swimming on the back. The body stays straight while the hands do a circle in the air.
The fifth video is “Women’s gymnastics”
This theme is close for me because my little sister has been doing rhythmic gymnastics for 4 years.
This video is really emotional and it made me cry…because so much pain and hope are illustrated there. I think that it’s one of the hardest kinds of sport. It takes a lot energy, mental power and and ability to concentrate. This video shows what sportsmen really feel and how they don’t give up despite many difficulties. It makes me feel power and faith in myself.
I think all this video brings an idea of strong people, how they reach their goals and never give up.
Thank you!
