Movies are an important part of my life

This topic is relevant for me as films enthrall me and make my life brigther. Let me back my knowledge up with some examples. I’ll start with the first question that we were given:

  • Think of a film that got rave reviews but which you were disappointed by.

Actually it took me some time to choose the best representative of this criteria and finally I’ve remembered it. “Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri” was the movie that I’ve been forced to watch with my friends who had really enjoyed it, while I was sitting and feeling desperate desire to stand up and go away. I just had an aversion to the ambience that was created in the movie, the actors’ play, the whole message that was supposedly hidden between the lines of the far-fetched plot, yet actually easily understood.

  • Think of a film that you didn’t think you would like, but which you really enjoyed.

I hate to say it, but such misjudgment often happens with me. For example, the first film that pops up in my mind is “Gone Girl”. Being a lover of complicated movies, I tend to critisize it if it’s not difficult enough, but I haven’t expected such plot twists and turns in this movie. I really liked and appreciated that the director and the screen writer managed to mislead me. Moreover, I was enamored of the acting skills of the actors who played leading roles. It’s surely worth mentioning that the color correction perfectly fitted the atmosphere of the movie, which is really important for me.

  • Think of a film that you really liked but which your friends didn’t enjoy.

It’s a pretty hard question for me, because usually my friends and I coincide in the movie choices. However, there is one movie that I consider eminent- “Buster’s Mal Heart”. This piece of art is impeccable for those who like to think and reflect. It may seem controversial but absolutely one of my favorites. Rami Malek played his role to perfection conveying such deep emotions as the feeling of loosing sense of this grueling life. Also, one of the significant proofs that this film is worth watching is that I’ve rewatched it once and still ready to see it again and again, because each time it opens up from different angle. However, as this movie has such special dark and enigmatic atmosphere that is not up to everyone’s taste, most of my friends don’t find it such trascending and brilliant as I do.

Thank you for your attention!
